Buddyo ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your personal information when you use the Buddyo mobile application (the "App") and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you consent to the data practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: name, email address and other registration details.
- Buddy Personalization Data: personality settings, voice preferences and other settings you configure for your buddies.
- Conversation Data: your voice and text conversations with your buddies in the App, used to power conversational features.
- Photos: photos of toys or figures you choose to take or upload when creating a buddy.
- Device & Usage Data: device model, OS version, identifiers and usage patterns collected automatically.
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide, maintain and improve the Services; to personalize your experience in the App; to create your buddies' personalities and images; to communicate with you about the Services; to analyze usage trends; to detect and prevent fraud or illegal activity; and to comply with legal obligations.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers who help operate the Services, under confidentiality obligations, and when required by law.
3a. Third-Party AI Services
To provide the App's AI features, our servers send the following data to third-party AI providers, who process it on our behalf under contractual protections equivalent to ours:
- Figure photos → image recognition and display-image generation: Google and Anthropic (via OpenRouter); fal.ai for background removal.
- Voice recordings → speech recognition: Deepgram.
- Conversation text → response generation: Google (via OpenRouter).
- Text to be spoken, and voice samples if you choose to clone a voice → voice synthesis: Inworld AI, Fish Audio.
We send only the content needed for each feature. We do not send your name, email address or account ID to these providers. The App shows you this list and asks for your explicit consent before any AI feature is enabled.
3b. Photos, Voices and Generated Content
Photos you upload are kept in private storage that is not publicly accessible and are linked to your account so they can be deleted on request. They are used to generate your buddy's display image and, as a numeric embedding, to improve figure matching. Voice recordings used for cloning are stored together with the rights statement you accepted. We keep a record of the choices you made while creating a buddy (for example, the name you chose) to show that the content is yours.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your information as long as needed to provide the Services. You can delete your account at any time in the App (Profile → Account → Delete Account) or by emailing us; photos and voice samples you uploaded are deleted with your account.
5. Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us.
